Das Licht der Welt erblickte ich am 16. Dezember 1970.
Da ich beruflich überwiegend am Schreibtisch arbeite, suchte ich nach einem kreativen Hobby im Freien. Weil ich auch gerne wandere und reise hat sich die Fotografie geradezu angeboten um die schönsten und interessantesten Augenblicke in Bildern festzuhalten.
Zu meinen sonstigen Hobbies zählen noch Lesen und Radfahren.

Angefangen zu fotografieren habe ich 2006 mit einer Kompaktkamera, welche mir aber zu wenig Möglichkeiten zur kreativen Gestaltung während der Aufnahme geboten hat. So bin ich zu meiner ersten digitalen Spiegelreflex Kamera, der Canon EOS-30D, gekommen.

Später ist dann meine zweite Kamera, die EOS-5D, dazugekommen. Die beiden Kameras ergänzen sich ganz hervorragend wobei ich die "kleinere" für den Tele- & Makro Bereich verwende und die 5D überwiegend für Landschaftsaufnahmen.

Meine in die Jahre gekommene 30D wurde durch eine 7D ersetzt, da ich eine schnellere Kamera für Sport-Fotografie benötige. Hier ist die 7D perfekt im Preis/Leisungsverhältnis...

Meine Kamerafamilie hat durch die EOS-M Zuwachs bekommen. Sie ist mit dem 22mm Objektiv gerade noch klein genug um in die Jackentasche zu passen, und somit fast immer dabei...

Da meine 7D nur noch gelegentlich zum Einsatz kommt und sonst nur mehr im Regal liegt, habe ich mich von Ihr getrennt...

Mit der EOS-1Ds Mark III habe ich meine Kamerafamilie wieder erweitert. Ich wollte eine wetterfeste Kammera um auch auf Reisen bei schlechtem Wetter interessanten Motive fotografieren zu können ohne Angst zu haben das etwas kaputt geht. Durch das Gehäuse mit Spezialversiegelung zum Schutz vor Staub und Feuchtigkeit ist Sie dafür bestens geeignet...

Da ich letztens festgestellt habe dass mir meine Kameraausrüstung auf Reisen zu schwer wird, habe ich mein Canon Equipment verkauf und bin auf das leichtere MFT System umgestiegen.
Somit habe ich nun eine wetterfeste Olympus E-M1 OM-D Systemkamera mit 2 Zoom und einer lichtstarken Festbrennweite. Das ganze Equipment hat jetzt ca. 2kg... im Vergleich dazu hatte mein entsprechendes Canon Equipment fast 10kg.

Für Schnappschüsse zwischendurch habe ich zusätzlich noch eine kleine Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX100...
So macht das fotografieren wieder Spaß...

Leider habe ich nie soviel Zeit wie ich gerne hätte um mich diesem Hobby zu widmen, aber ich versuche so oft wie möglich schöne/interessante Bilder einzufangen und hier für euch in der Galerie zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Am unteren Seitenrand gibt es auch noch einen Link zu einem deutschen Fotografen-Forum wo es jede Menge Infos und Tips zur Fotografie gibt oder auch die eine oder andere Frage meist hilfreich beantwortet wird.

The first time i looked the light of the world was on the 16th december 1970.
Because I work professionally most time at the desk, i searched for a creative hobby in nature. Thereby I hike and travel with pleasure, the photography has almost offered to capture the nicest and most interesting moments in pictures.
Reading and cycling still counts to my other hobbies.

I began 2006 with a compact camera to photograph, which offered me however to few possibilities to control the photo creatively.
Because of this I have come to my first digital reflex camera, the Canon EOS-30D.

Later my second camera, the EOS-5D, has arrived.
The cameras complement both another and I use the "smaller" one for the tele- and macroarea while the 5D is predominantly used for scenery photography.

My long-serving 30D was exchanged by the 7D, because i needed a faster camera for sport photography. For this the EOS 7D is perfect in price/performance...

My little camera family get growth with the EOS-M. Together with the 22mm pancake objective it is small enough to fit into the jacket bag, therefore it is nearly always with me or as fallback in the backbag.

Since my 7D spends their most time in the cabinet and this is definitly to bad for it, i sold it after long hesitation...

With the EOS-1Ds Mark III, i have expanded my camera family again. I wanted a weatherproof camera to be able to photograph interesting motives even when traveling in bad weather without to fear something breaks. It's housing with special seal for protection against dust and moisture is ideally suited for this...
                    
I've recently found that my camera gear gets too heavy for travel, so I sold my Canon equipment and switched to the lighter MFT system.
Thus, I now have a weatherproof Olympus E-M1 OM-D system camera with 2 zoom and a bright fixed focal length. The whole equipment has now about 2kg ... in comparison, my corresponding Canon equipment had almost 10kg.

For snapshots in between I also have a small Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX100 ...
So taking pictures is fun again ...

Unfortunately, I dont have as much time as i like to have to spend it to this hobby, but I try to catch as often as possibly beauty/interesting pictures and make them available here for you in the gallery.
At the bottom of the site there is a link to a german photographer forum where you can find a lot of useful tips and infos about the photography or the one or other questions will be answered helpfully.
